Frequently Asked Questions
How are the names displayed on the wall?
There are nine sections of the wall at this time. All (except Section 9) hold 1000 names that have been submitted; the sections are in alphabetical order by last name.
How can I submit a name to be placed on the wall?
Click the Submit Name button and fill in the form with the required information. Your e-mail address must be valid. (You will also need to indicate whether you would like an application to join one of our suicide grief groups.)
After one of the administrators has reviewed your submission, it will be placed on the wall.
Please check Section 9 in a few days to make sure that the name you submitted appears on the wall and that the information is accurate. (Contact us if there is an error.)
How can I search for a name?
Our Search page allows you to enter search parameters as needed.
Who does the work on this site?
All work done on the Suicide Memorial Wall is done by volunteers who are part of the POS-FFOS Internet community. This wall is an outreach site, created and maintained by people who want to help others, in memory of someone who died by suicide.
I've lost someone to suicide. How can I get support and help?
The POS-FFOS Internet Community has partner sites offering help and information. It also has a public message board, a members-only chat room, and two active e-mail groups, Parents of Suicides (POS) and Friends and Families of Suicides (FFOS).
You can find these sites on the Outreach page.
What should I do if I find an error?
If you find an error, click the Contact Us button. Send us the name of the person, explain the mistake, include your name and your e-mail address. Then, check back in a couple days to see if the correction has been made.
